Vellore Golden Temple

Popularly known as Sripuram Golden Temple, it is an exotic architecture carved in gold. It is dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi and the temple is also called as 'Sri Lakshmi Narayani Temple'. Approximately 1500 Kilograms of gold is used to build the temple. The temple has an intricate work done by artisans specializing in temple art using gold. Sripuram is a spiritual park at the foot of a small range of green hills at a place called Malaikodi in the city of Vellore in Tamil Nadu. The temple was constructed by Vellore-based Sri Narayani peedam led by spiritual leader Sri Sakthi Amma, also known as Amma Narayani Temple, which is 55,000 square meters is a set of prints and sculptures in gold. It should be noted that this temple was built in 7 years which is a very short time. The lighting is arranged so that the temple glitters even at night. The corridor surrounding the sanctum resemble the architecture of Indian Parliament. Sripuram design represents a star shaped path (Sri chakra) running a length of over 1.8 km. The temple is positioned in the middle of wonderfully maintained lush green landscape. Tourists have to pass through this path which represents the religious symbol of the wheel to reach the main shrine. The Goddess of wealth and prosperity - Goddess Mahalakshmi idol in the inner sanctum fills your mind with joy and spirituality. A visit to this beautiful temple will leave you amazed by its luxurious architecture.
