Munnar, meaning 'Three River'...

A beautiful hill station is situated at a height of 1600 to 1800 m above the sea level. This hill city is very much rich in Tea plantations, landscapes and sloppy villages. There are about thirty tea estates. The thick vegetations, dropping clouds, mountain peaks, red gum trees, great black roads, the winding lanes of the town makes the region, a heaven. Apart from this, munnar is known for its rich tropical forest that houses an assortment of wildlife such as Nilgiris Tahr, Sambhar Deer, Elephant, Lion tailed Macaques. On the slopes of Rajamalai, a bound free herds of the Nilgiri Tahr - an endangered species of wild goat with melting eyes and soft brown skin.
